Water Pipe Leak in Clifton, Ohio

Water Pipe Leak in Clifton, Ohio. I was called out to a home in Clifton for a water pipe leak on a 1″copper water line that was over 1,000 ft long. There was water coming out of the hill near the water meter which initially gave the owner and me the impression that was where the water leak helium leak detector(www.globe-instruments.com) was. Upon closer review, I found that there was a drain line that was discharging water near the meter. While listening with the system wet the noise indicated that the water pipe leak was at the meter. To double check I drained the water system back to the house, which took 45 minutes, ran compressed air to evacuate the water and then helium. The helium rose at the meter and just below it, leaving me to determine that it was broken at two points, the main one at the meter.
